About Jeffry Farrell

Jeffry Farrell, MA, the founder and creator of Park Cities Yoga, has taught all ages in a wide variety of settings. These include three years at New Haven's Arts Magnet Middle School, seven years at Dallas' Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, three years at the University of Texas at Dallas, and as a guest teaching artist at Yale University's undergraduate theatre program.
Since January of 2000, he has also led daily yoga practices, workshops and applied yoga therapy at Park Cities Yoga.
Jeff has an extensive background in movement, theatre, dance, physiology, mind/body studies, and of course, yoga.
He discovered yoga in 1978, reading and studying a range of teachers. In 1989, Kumar Pallana introduced Jeff to Vivekananda's Vedantic tradition, integrating breath and attention with the body and leading beyond these into the power of the mind and the "junction of everything".
In addition, Jeff's yoga is informed by practiced under David Life and Sharon Gannon, and Dharma Mittra.
Jeff is committed to serving a full range of ages, abilities, dispositions, and souls at Park Cities Yoga.

After studying with Kumar Pallana for several years, Jeffry Farrell began teaching yoga in his own right, at Kumar's insistence. In 2000, Jeff had the opportunity to teach in a small 400 square foot space at Lovers and the Tollway. In that space (dubbed "The Little Yoga Studio") Jeff's yoga teaching grew to fill a full-time schedule of both group and personal sessions. Eventually, the studio was renamed "Park Cities Yoga" in order to honor its connection with the surrounding community.
In 2008, Park Cities Yoga moved to an expanded space at the southwest corner of Preston & Royal. While we have added teachers to the roster, Jeff's vision, passion, and commitment remains at the heart of all we do.
